... why the school's security people like to be obnoxious by turning on the volume on their walkie talkie to maximum? It's hard to maintain credibility when you are 1) a hired security; 2) not a real policeman and do not carry a gun; 3) grotesquely overweight and completely unable to chase down any criminals except maybe if the criminals were old ladies with walkers.

I originally thought that this was an article to warn people of a potential health hazard with the popular device. However after reading it, I realized it is an article to warn people of the potentially hazardous STUPIDITY OF OTHER PEOPLE AROUND THEM:

"The Canadian jogger suffered worse injuries, according to a report in Thursday's New England Journal of Medicine.

The man, a 39-year-old dentist from the Vancouver area, was listening to an iPod while jogging in a thunderstorm when, according to witnesses, lightning hit a tree a couple of feet away and jumped to his body. The strike threw the man about eight feet and caused second-degree burns on his chest and left leg."

Down in the Boondocks

The journey took 2 hours longer than we expected. Mostly due to traffic on the main north-south freeway. But there aren't any accidents, so apparently, people are just being "strange".

My trusty GSM phone is on roaming mode @@. But apparently, there is no charge for it. And I found that GPRS still works! So I am still connected to the outside world. Hee.
